While this Samsung 830 Series 256GB doesn’t quite top the league tables for overall performance, it is still one extremely quick storage drive. Samsung seems to have tweaked its controller to favour read speed at most file sizes, suggesting it may have the edge in PC boot times, for instance. Priced between the Crucial M4 and Corsair Performance Pro drives of the same capacity, it is a worthy adversary. A lack of cross-platform software tools keeps this drive from a PC Advisor award.
