Testberichte

- Lower resolution screen than closest rivals
The Canon PowerShot D20 looks to combine the best features from Canon's PowerShot range with a host of rugged features.

With the PowerShot D20, Canon is back in line with the competition when it comes to waterproof compacts. The zoom lens isn't the best we've seen, but the camera is pleasant to use and has all the functions you'd expect from an underwater snapper these days (Full HD video, stabilisation, GPS, etc.)
Robuste Kamera für Abenteurer: stoßfest, staubgeschützt und wasserdicht. Schnell, gut für Schnappschüsse. Relativ teuer.
- Excellent image quality
- Full 1080p HD
- GPS switches on quickly
- Continuous shooting isn't particularly quick
- Battery cover is tricky to open
- One of the more expensive waterproof cameras available
Many of the rugged, waterproof cameras we have previously reviewed score heavily for their features, but image quality is often lacking. This is where the D20 bucks that trend, it's not quite scored full marks for its features, but image quality is amongst the best of the outdoor cameras.
- GPS-Funktion
- action- und outdoortauglich
- gut für Schnappschüsse
- Frühes Bildrauschen
- starke Vignettierung
- schwammiger Auslöser
Laut Chip Foto Video ist die Canon Powershot D20 eine solide Kamera mit outdoortauglichem Gehäuse. Im Test erreicht sie eine Bewertung von 69,4%.
- Waterproof
- tough
- rugged
- GPS
- lens-based stabilisation
- 3-inch 416k-dot LCD
- Awkward design
- bunched up zoom buttons placement
- easy to get in finger in front of lens
- slow autofocus
- lack of user-defined controls (AF point placement, manual shooting)
- so-so image quality
There’s a lot of choice out there when it comes to tough and waterproof compact cameras. The Canon PowerShot D20 certainly ticks the boxes when it comes to underwater use, but it’s the awkward design and the lack of the core image quality elements that leave it short of the mark. Compared to some of its cheaper rivals, however, the D20 has preferable autofocus options, a resolute and therefore detailed 3-inch LCD screen, is most capable when it comes to close-up focusing and the inclusion of lens-based image stabilisation is a further plus point. ...
- Durable and robust
- Fantastic underwater
- Great video capture
- Wealth of movie modes
- GPS logger
- Lengthy shutter lag
- Hard and slow to focus
- Bulky design
- Great in-camera interface
- Sharp lens
- Impressive underwater performance
- Moderately slow
- not suitable for fast-action shots or video
- Unconventional design is interesting but bulky
- Unreliable GPS
The Canon PowerShot D20 is a waterproof, shockproof and freeze-proof compact digital camera with built-in GPS. As such the Canon PowerShot D20 will primarily appeal to adventurous and active types looking for a camera that’s as home on the piste as it is underwater. Thanks to well-spaced and relatively large buttons it’s pretty easy to use and despite being fully automatic also offers a pretty good range of shooting options, including Full HD movie recording and Super Slow Motion video capture.
