Testberichte
- hohe unverzerrte Lautstärke
- klingt ausgewogen und spritzig
- Lightning-Dock
- "The Bowers & Wilkins Z2 is a compact AirPlay speaker with an integrated Lightning dock that's attractively designed, sounds good for its size, and is lightweight enough to easily move from room to room (though it does have to be powered by an AC adapter)."
- "Expensive
- could sound a little better for the price
- no built-in rechargeable battery for mobile use."
The attractively designed $400 Bowers & Wilkins Z2 wireless speaker sounds pretty good and has a built-in Lightning dock, but it doesn't quite stand out enough in a crowded market.
- "Sound is natural, bright and full. Gets satisfyingly loud. Looks gorgeous, with soft-touch material around the top and bottom and a sleek metal grill in front. Comes in black and white."
- "There’s an old Italian proverb* that says, “Your cart is only as good as the donkey you’ve hitched it to.” And AirPlay is one flakey donkey. Charging dock on top only works with Apple handsets with Lightning ports — iPhone 5, iPod Touch and iPod Nano. $400 only makes sense if you’re already fully invested in Apple hardware and AirPlay streaming."
- Sehr guter Klang
- hochwertige Verarbeitung
- Keine gedruckte Anleitung
- Statusanzeige kompliziert über mehrfarbige LED
- Lightning-Dock nicht für das iPad
- Kompaktes, stylishes Design
- Gute Ausgangsleistung
- Klarer, dynamischer Klang
Testsieger
- knackiger Sound
- tiefer Bass
- attraktives Design
- Dock nur für iPod touch/iPhone
... Nun ist der Z2 WLAN-tauglich und im Verbund mit anderen sogar multiroomfähig; lediglich die Remote App müsste überarbeitet werden.
Bowers & Wilkins’s £699 A7 remains the priciest AirPlay speaker I’ve tested, and it sounds exceptional. The company’s Z2 costs half as much, but it still sounds very, very good. While the Z2 can’t rival the A7’s sound, it’s far more affordable, it’s considerably smaller, and it offers a Lightning dock for wired playback and device charging. I haven’t tested a better AirPlay speaker for this price.
- Stunning upper register
- Smooth low end and mids
- Flawless wireless performance
- Elegant, minimalist design
- Tone can be a tad bright
- Bass slightly inconsistent
- Fairly pricey
At $400, the Z2 is still a bit of an investment for such a compact wireless speaker/dock, but we think it’s a worthwhile one. Though we wished for a bit more warmth and fullness in the Z2’s tone at times, it consistently displayed its prowess for brilliant clarity and immaculate detail throughout our listening sessions. ...

... Though we wished for a bit more warmth and fullness in the Z2’s tone at times, it consistently displayed its prowess for brilliant clarity and immaculate detail throughout our listening sessions. This speaker’s elegant design, flawless wireless performance, and stellar upper register make it a serious contender in the mid to high-end wireless speaker market.
- Rich, full sound
- Apple Airplay
- Compact design
- Quite pricey
- Metal grille might be off-putting for some
- No iPhone? No love
