Sliding open the face plate powers up the camera in just over a second, and sliding it shut turns the camera off. There's also a dedicated power button, should you wish to review photos or video without exposing the lens.

You're mostly paying for getting all the latest features into a very small body that you can take anywhere. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX7, for example, features one of the company's Exmor R backside-illuminated (BSI) sensors, a 25mm-equivalent wide-angle lens, a high-resolution 3.5-inch touchscreen LCD and 1080i movie capture at 60 frames per second--all in a body that's just 17.7mm thick.

Sony packt in diese schicke und kleine Style-Kamera viele Funktionen. Sie können mit der TX7 in Full-HD filmen, schnelle Bildserien schießen und besonders einfach Panorama-Aufnahmen erzeugen. Kritik verdient aber die zu starke Rauschunterdrückung und die langsame Auslöseverzögerung.
