• ✓Superb image and video quality

• ✓Great build and features

• ✓Excellent image quality
• ✓Great dynamic range
• ✓Pocketable size

... The good news is that they all take great photos, with the RX100 III and RX100 II winning in the low-light department. If you’re serious about video, the RX100 III is the one to get. If you’ve been dying for an eye-level viewfinder, ditto: The best pocket camera out there now has one. ...

It's not much of a surprise that one of the most expensive compact cameras on the market is also one of the best. The question is whether it's worth buying. The truth is, there are very few cameras that are small enough to slip into a pocket that come close to matching the RX100 III's image quality, and none are significantly cheaper. ...

• ✓Top-Bildqualität, lichtstarkes Objektiv, handlich, leicht, starker Autofokus

Of course, it's also one of the most expensive compact point-and-shoots, with an MSRP right around $800. Though you'll pay a premium for this camera, it's simple to use, has tons of control, benefits from a fantastic sensor, is great in low light, takes awesome video... there's really so little to complain about here. ...

• ✓Bildqualität auf DSLR-Niveau
• ✓Lichtstarkes Objektiv
• ✓Elektronischer Sucher
• ✓Handlich leicht

It's hard to give a proper verdict here, as the RX100 III we used wasn't a final version, and we weren't able to take away and forensically examine any pictures from it. What we can say is that there's absolutely no reason why it won't rival the RX100 and RX100 II in the quality stakes, and in fact we'd expect it to surpass them based on its hopefully superior low-light skills and just general newness...

Overall, our first impressions of the Sony RX100 III are that Sony has once again upped the anti, creating the standout premium compact camera. The new inbuilt EVF is excellent and a very useful addition, while the revised lens range should make this model even more versatile than its predecessors. The powerful stabilisation and new video modes also make this a serious videographers tool too. ...
