This small, A4 scanner from Fujitsu is very convenient to use: it draws its power from a USB port and it can be used right there at your desk to scan loose sheets of paper one at a time. Some useful software ships with it, too, although its business card scanning software isn't great.

The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1100 is a very good portable scanner for the money and is exceptionally easy to use, particularly if your main requirement is to produce PDF files. However, it can also scan to Office and GoogleDocs applications and handles both plain paper documents and photos well. Also, on a portable device like this, it would be useful to have some kind of protective case, even a simple slip sleeve.

Fujitsus ScanSnap S1100 ist sehr kompakt und bietet sich nicht nur für den mobilen Einsatz an. Wer nur gelegentlich scannt, wenig Platz zur Verfügung hat und Flexibilität sucht, findet mit dem kleinen Gerät einen guten Allrounder.
