I’d have loved to see better battery life, nippier performance and slightly more to grip onto on the front of the camera. However, the concept is so strong that these drawbacks pale into insignificance. ...
- Klein und leicht
- Hohe Bildqualität
- Einfache Bedienung
- WLAN eingebaut
- Kein Sucher
- Kleiner Zoom-Bereich

- Wenig klassische Bedienelemente
- Sichtbare Randunschärfe
Kompakte Kamera mit intuitiver Bedienung
- Sharp lens

With the PowerShot G9 X, Canon is doing its best to bring the image quality advantage of a 1-inch compact to the consumer market. ...
- Konsequente Touchbedienung, auch bei den Menüs
- Äußerst kompaktes, hochwertig verarbeitetes Gehäuse
- Komplett manuell bedienbar inklusive praktischem Objektivring
Smartphones have completely changed the photography world. They're convenient, fast, and user-friendly. And the increased competition has driven down prices so that DSLRs and mirrorless cameras are cheaper than they've ever been. But even in a cutthroat camera market, there's still room for a traditional point-and-shoot, especially one as good (and compact) as the Canon G9 X. ...

- Starke Bildqualität dank 1-Zoll-Sensor
- Touch-Display
- Autofokus flott
- Serienaufnahme bei JPEG
- Serienaufnahme bei RAW
- Wenige Direktasten
- Smallest conventional camera with a 1in sensor.
- Very capable touch-screen. Quick and easy to control.
- Full manual control over exposure and focus.
- Built-in Wifi with NFC and good smartphone control.
- USB charging in-camera but also supplied with AC charger.
- Basic 3x optical zoom. A little soft at 28mm in corners.
- Lens focal ratio slows down at 84mm to f4.9.
- No viewfinder. Screen doesn't tilt either.
- No in-camera panorama mode.
- Burst speed in RAW is very slow.
Canon has sensibly identified the 1in sensor as a way to differentiate its latest cameras from phones and older point-and-shoot models, and the ever-increasing PowerShot G range ensures there's an option for everyone. I feel this is where Canon currently scores over Sony by offering four rather than two form-factors with the 1in sensor...

The Canon Powershot G9 X is a compact and stylish digital camera that is designed to be small and pocketable whilst still delivering excellent image quality. Thankfully this is something the G9 X is highly capable of, with bright colourful images that pack in plenty of detail. ...
...Giving a super-slim camera a 1-inch, 20.2-megapixel sensor is a coup when you consider the necessary hardware to make that happen. It's tough to say what the future holds for Canon's G-series, but it doesn't look too dim from this standpoint—Canon is attacking every niche it can with smartly-designed hardware. ...
