There are two big attractions this camera has over other cameras available for around the same price. The first is the sharpness of the pictures it takes. The second is the 8x zoom gives you more power than most low budget digital cameras.

The Canon PowerShot A4000 IS is a typical A-series compact—it's a user-friendly entry-level point-and-shoot that takes decent pictures in good light at wide-angle settings. However, some Canon Ixus compacts out-perform both its optics and its electronics while also selling at a lower price (the Ixus 115 HS for example)!
