Die Canon PowerShot S100 ist eine gelungene Kompaktkamera für Fortgeschrittene. GPS ist eine nette Dreingabe, die sich aufgrund des Aufpreises allerdings nur für Menschen lohnt, die häufiger reisen. Davon abgesehen punktet die PowerShot in erster Linie mit einer hervorragenden Bildqualität.

The S100 provides better low-light performance than its predecessor and should appeal to advanced users with its F2 aperture, wider lens and SLR-like control ring. However, some judder in full-HD video and limited GPS functionality prevent us from making a full recommendation

Canon has given its top-end pocket camera a nip and tuck to make it shine even brighter than before. The S100 is a proficient do-it-all camera with a range of features like GPS to keep photographers happy. Whether it's to sit alongside an SLR or to be your primary camera, the S100 won't disappoint unless you're expecting SLR-like speeds.

Excellent pictures, small size, great design, GPS technology and 1080p HD movie are all plus points. Occasional close-focusing issues, a high price and no hotshoe are the only criticisms that we do have. Otherwise the S100 makes good on its promise to better the S95 – the S100 is the best small high-end compact you can buy

The Canon PowerShot S100 is a camera that's great to use, with plenty of advanced functions and handling that's sometimes worthy of an SLR. What's more, it takes high-quality pictures and videos. It's just a shame that the lens isn't a little more consistent but, most of all, it's the disappointing battery life that really cost this camera its fifth star!
