Bild (40%): gut; Video (10%): gut; Blitz (5%): gut; Sucher (5%): sehr gut; Monitor (10%): sehr gut; Handhabung (30%): gut
- Genialer Hybrid-Sucher
- Sehr viele Einstellungsmöglichkeiten
- Optik und Haptik
- Display mit mittelmäßiger Auflösung
Gute, kompakte Universalkamera mit Festbrennweite. Sehr guter Sucher: optisch und elektronisch (umschaltbar) und guter Monitor. Für eine Universalkamera sehr teuer (Stand: August 2013). Viele Extras und Funktionen.
- "Compact size. Amazing photo quality. You look cool using it."
- "Controls take longer than usual to master. Battery life and meter can cut a planned long day shooting too short."
- Superior 16MP stills
- Excellent Hybrid viewfinder
- Very responsive
- Expensive
- Not geared toward casual users, no matter how much money they have
- Small LCD screen with so-so quality
The Fujifilm X100S is a very good camera, geared toward photographers who really want control over almost every aspect of still image quality. Street photographers in particular will find this camera appealing. The 35mm f/2.0 prime lens is really sharp, we love the aperture ring and the Hybrid Viewfinder, and responsiveness is top notch. It looks and feels like an old film camera and delivers results that are very film-like, which is very cool. Our only biggest complaint is the price and other issues we detailed earlier. If these things don’t bother you, then by all means order away. After using this X-series camera for a while, it’s easy to see why Fujifilm remains a force in digital photography. We give it an Editor’s Choice award but only for the right kind of shutterbug – those looking for something basic should keep searching.
- Kein optischer Bildstabilisator vorhanden
- Display mit "nur" durchschnittlicher Auflösung (460.000 Subpixel)
- Verschlusszeiten durch den Objektivverschluss sehr eingeschränkt
- ...
A luxurious camera with the features and quality to back up its premium design and price
- Hybrid optical/electronic viewfinder
- Superb high ISO image quality
- 35mm wide-angle field of view
- Fast f/2 lens
- ...
- Bigger than some other large-sensor compacts
- Lens suffers from edge softness
- Macro shots at wide apertures have a soft-focus look
- Video could be better
- ...
Don't be fooled by the Fujifilm X100S's retro exterior; it's a modern, full-featured digital camera that impressed us enough to earn our Editors' Choice award.
Fujifilm's X100S is a compact, retro-styled camera with a large APS-C sized sensor, fixed 35mm f2 equivalent lens and the choice of screen or viewfinder for composition. Announced in January 2013 it's the successor to the X100, a model that revitalized the market for fixed-lens cameras aimed at enthusiasts. The X100 proved there was demand for such a camera but suffered from a number of issues. The X100S attempts to resolve those issues and deliver excellent performance without losing the retro charm of its predecessor. ...

When it comes to buying a specialist camera there's a lot to dissect and chew on. As we alluded to in our opening words of this review, the X100S isn't going to be suitable for a huge audience - but that, in some regard, is part of what makes this high-end compact so appealing. ...

Of course, it's also a lot of cash to part with. With a mere pound change from the £1100 asking price, some may slide the way of the more versatile X-E1 compact system camera for a touch less cash.
- "Retro design, hybrid viewfinder with wider-than-100% optical viewfinder and electronic overlay/full-time EVF options, improvements to autofocus compared to original X100, solid build quality, decent image quality, digital split image and peaking make for intricate fine manual focus, fast flash sync and leaf shutter built into lens"
- "At over a grand its undeniably expensive (X-E1 with a lens is less), no true ISO 100 sensitivity, exposure compensation dial still knocks out of place fairly easily, small LCD screen given chunky overall design, autofocus can be inaccurate/fail to focus, autofocus sounds are mildly audible, 35mm equivalent lens won't suit all (no zoom), continuous autofocus really isn't all that, 1/4000th sec can only be properly used at f/8.0 or less, close-focus using wide apertures is extremely soft with halo-like effect at f/2.0"
The X100S has moments where it represents the pinnacle of high-end compact cameras. But it's not faultless: it does cost a small fortune and is perhaps difficult to justify due to Fujifilm's own X-E1 model, while close-up macro shots at wide aperture settings fail to be sharp. Autofocus is faster and image quality is better compared to 2011's X100 model, but we do wish there was a larger screen, slightly smaller build and increased autofocus accuracy to finish off this specialised package.
- Class leading image quality
- Significantly faster autofocus performance
- Small and light body
- Excellent build quality
- The flash has some seriously weak game
- Lens cap is easy to come off and not easy to store
- Focusing in low light can be frustrating
- Video mode is limited
When you hold the Fujifilm X100s, all you can think about is just how much power you have in a small package. And depending on your hand size, it overall might be too small or just right for you. Put the camera up to your eye, focus and shoot--and you'll be astounded at just how simple it is to capture great images. ...
- "The Fujifilm X100S produces excellent photos, and an updated viewfinder adds to the camera's increasingly streamlined shooting design."
- "The lens has a few quirks, as does the autofocus system."
A great enthusiast compact for manual-focusing fans.
- Excellent resolution and detail in photos
- Low noise up to ISO3200 and above
- Excellent colour reproduction
- Unique optical hybrid electronic viewfinder
- Quite high price
- Fixed focal length
- RAW not available with "Advanced Filters"
The Fujifilm X100s improves quite dramatically over the Fujifilm X100, with a new 16 megapixel sensor that delivers excellent noise performance and detail in photos. The X100s gives the same familiar controls as the original X100 as well as a higher resolution electronic viewfinder, that when combined with the hybrid optical viewfinder, makes this camera a unique proposition. ...
The Fujifilm X100S looks set to be a worthy successor to the impressive X100. We're pleased to see that Fujifilm has concentrated on fixing some of the complaints from the first model, in the form of some small, but important technical tweaks. ...
