HTC has undoubtedly produced yet another great handset for its One range. The HTC One M9 is let down slightly by an inconsistent camera and some software grumbles, but this is still a solid all-round flagship.

While we're hopeful that HTC is focused on pushing the envelope of smartphone design even further next time around, if you're looking for a beautiful, no-nonsense Android flagship that stays out of your way, the HTC One M9 is it. There are better-performing phones on the market, but the One M9 belongs in the rare class of phone that is every bit as gorgeous as it is powerful.

Ausstattung und Gehäuse des neuen HTC One M9 32 GB sind ohne Frage herausragend, allerdings überzeugt die 20-Megapixel-Kamera des Smartphones nur bei günstigem Umgebungslicht. Für immerhin 700 Euro hätten wir uns außerdem mehr echte Neuerungen gewünscht. Trotzdem ist das M9 unstrittig ein High-End-Smartphone.

Das größte Manko der One-Serie, nämlich die zu gering auflösende Hauptkamera, hat HTC mit der starken 20-Megapixel-Knipse beseitigt - sonst gab es nie viel zu meckern! Dafür gibt es nun ein anderes Problem: der schwächelnde Akku! [...]

Unsere Prognose: Im Vergleich mit anderen neuen Flaggschiff-Smartphones dieses Jahres wie etwa dem Samsung Galaxy S6 wird es das HTC One M9 richtig schwer haben.

There’s no denying it, the One M9 is another fantastic phone from HTC. Yes, it is let down slightly by an inconsistent camera and some software niggles, but the One range remains one of the best all-round flagships you can get thanks to the One M9.

With the M9, it seems as though HTC heard the feedback from HTC One M8 owners and addressed all the concerns. The HTC One M9 has a good grip, the camera has been upgraded to take great pictures and the battery life should easily last a day. In short, HTC has made an excellent phone even better.

The HTC One M9 is a genuinely desirable smartphone with the best design and build available in Android land, even with Samsung upping the ante. It's good to see the powerful Snapdragon 810 and more memory, however, some key hardware remains the same meaning M8 users are unlikely to be tempted to upgrade.

Overall the M9's focus on manufacturing precision feels like something of a distraction: were smartphone fans demanding increasing precision in manufacture, or were they calling for better battery life and an improved camera experience? As pretty as it is, the HTC One M9 doesn't feel like it's taken a big enough step forward.

Das HTC One M9 bietet einen sensationell schnellen Prozessor sowie eine deutlich bessere Kamera für Fotos und Videos plus etliche nette neue Features für die einfachere Bedienung. Dem fest verbauten Akku geht jedoch recht früh die Puste aus.

If you like the HTC One aluminum design, then you will like what HTC offers in the One M9. The One M9 feels great in your hand, offers a competitive camera experience, has excellent value-added software, lets you easily personalize your phone, is very fast and responsive, and extremely capable.

But if you're looking for the best smartphone bar none, the One isn't at the head of the pack. This probably isn't the One for you. HTC played it safe this year instead of pushing things further.

HTC's 2015 flagship was designed to feel more premium than previous models, but it runs the risk of feeling dated two years on. It's sturdy and plenty powerful with its Snapdragon 810 chipset, but the M9's 20-megapixel camera doesn't seem any better than the UltraPixel shooter HTC ditched, and the occasional software quirk raises eyebrows.

There's a lot to love about the HTC One M8 for Windows - it's the device that proves the importance of a premium build and construction, irrelevant of software platform. We love the M8 design because it enhances the overall experience.
