This printer is very petite, with a small footprint of just 368 by 360mm. It's quite squat too, at a mere 183mm tall, so it really doesn't take up all that much room on your desk compared to most laser printers.
Fazit
The Brother HL-2250DN monochrome laser printer may not offer the cheapest running costs on the market, but it's competitively priced, doesn't take up much space, and produces good results at a decent speed.

The Deskjet 3000 is a single-function inkjet printer designed for light use, but with some handy extras not often found in £50 machines. Wireless connection, with a simple two-button setup, a well-integrated LCD display and pre-programmed forms for office and leisure make this a worthwhile machine to consider if your budget is tight. Print quality is not up to HP's usual standard, though.

HP uses the LCD panel and wireless connection on the DeskJet 3000 to good effect, improving its ease-of-use compared with the cheaper DeskJet 1000. Print quality on plain paper is only fair, though, and black print cost is comparatively high. Print speeds are better than average overall. This is a good, inexpensive printer that will suit light home use or possibly a student bedroom.

Der Schwarzweiß-Laserdrucker Brother HL-2170W eignet sich durch seine beiden Netzwerk-Anschlüsse besonders für kleinere Netzwerke im Büro und zu Hause. Das Drucktempo des Brother HL-2170W reicht dafür vollkommen aus. Die Druckqualität des Brother HL-2170W kann ebenfalls überzeugen.

The Brother HL-2270DW is a simple mono laser printer. Apart from wireless networking it doesn't have any fancy features — it does a good job of printing monochrome pages quickly, with a fast time for the first page to be printed and quick overall print speeds. If simple document production is your main purpose and you won't be printing on specialty papers often, then the HL-2270DW is perfect.

Brother's HL-2270DW mono laser printer gets pages out quickly, making it a good choice for document-heavy offices that don't need colour. It's also got wireless so it's a smart choice for a large or notebook-heavy office.

A good compromise for those looking for a colour laser printer that's easy to share in a work group. It gives good speeds and quality prints. Ease-of-use is a real bonus and, as a result, you'll be willing to ignore its imposing aspect. Cost per page is moderate (in particular in black & white) with very high capacity cartridges. The colour standard ones are much more expensive however!

You can get basically the same printer in the HL-4140CDN without wireless for $100 less. Or you can spend $100 more on an additional bottom-mounted 550-sheet input unit with the HL-4570CDWT.

We thought perhaps we could save on some photography when we unpacked Brother’s HL-4570CDW workgroup colour laser printer, as it looks so similar to the HL-4150CDN we reviewed a few weeks back. This printer is £130 more than the HL-4150CDN, though, and for that you get a faster print speed and wireless connection.
Fazit
Like its cheaper sibling, Brother’s HL-4570CDW is a solid, workgroup colour laser. It's a bit quicker and includes wireless networking support, but the £130 difference between the two models still seems a bit steep. The print speed is fine, duplex print is useful and the running costs are lower than before, but colour print is too dark by default and settings may need tweaking if you want to get reasonably accurate tints for photos...
