Testberichte
- Fast, fluid performance
- Camera is a big leap over last year's model
- Finally has US LTE support
- That price!
- Camera is weak in low light
- Notification light is gone
- Base model only has 1GB of RAM
Oh, how far we've come. Smartphone makers are really trying to nail the "high-quality, low-cost" formula this year, and they're working up ways to sell straight to consumers too. ...
Telefon (15%): befried. (3,2); Internet und PC (15%): gut (2,3); Kamera (15%): ausreich. (3,9); GPS und Navigation (10%): gut (2,3); Musikspieler (5%): befried. (3,3); Handhabung (20%): gut (2,2); Stabilität (5%): sehr gut (1,4); Akku (15%): gut (2,5);
You don’t have to search long to uncover the Moto G’s shortcomings, but if you meet them in the middle, it’s easier to embrace the phone for what it is. It’s not the market-changer like its 2014 predecessor, but that’s only because it’s upholding its predecessor’s tradition. ...
- Gute Performance
- wasserdicht
- Android 5 verfügbar
- Dual-SIM
- Kamera mit Schwächen
- Panel
- vergleichsweise dunkel
... But the new Moto G 4G for 2015 is not the best phone for either customer, and its larger, higher-resolution screen, marginally improved photography credentials and stereo sound are not enough for us to turn a blind eye to its £60 higher price, slower hardware and missing software features.
- Starker Akku
- Kompakt und gut verarbeitet
- LTE
- Aktuelles Android
- Kein HD-Display
- Akku nicht wechselbar
- HD screen with good colour rendering
- Dual front-speakers
- Snappy user experience
- Good for gaming
- Great music output
- Front-panel bleeds light
- Outmoded design
- produces grainy pictures
- Does not ship with an USB cable
The Moto G offers snappy user experience. It handles high-end games at playable frame-rate. The phone impresses with its sound output too. On the other hand, it has let of of the compactness, we loved its predecessor for. Aesthetics is another critical area, as the design of the new Moto G is a step down from its predecessor. ...
- Low price
- High-quality 720p display
- Responsive, near-stock Android
- 4G LTE-capable
- Now includes memory card slot
- Poor camera
The now-LTE-equipped Motorola Moto G may be a year-old phone, but it's still one of the best Android values on AT&T.
- Großes, scharfes Display
- Einfache Bedienung
- Gutes Arbeitstempo
- Dual-SIM
- ...
- Kein LTE
- Keine Fitness-Funktionen
- Grippy case
- Replaceable back cover
- Dual-SIM
- Decent stereo speakers
- ...
- Average performance
- Battery not removable
- Case sensitive to pressure
- Tricky to remove the back cover
- ...
Motorola continues its strategy with the Moto G2 and once again builds a simple smartphone with stock Android and replaceable covers. The Moto G2 is not a device that is going to be very exciting; it is more of a loyal companion that hardly disappoints you. [...]
- Griffiges Gehäuse
- Austauschbare Rückseiten
- Dual-SIM
- Ordentliche Stereolautsprecher
- ...
- Durchschnittliche Leistung
- Akku nicht austauschbar
- Gehäuse druckempfindlich
- Rückseite schwer abzunehmen
- ...
- Very good build-quality
- The responsiveness and fluidity are worthy of a premium smartphone
- Decent multimedia functions
- The in-call sound quality
- The screen's contrast and brightness, but they could be improved
- Photo capture
- Battery life could be better
The first Moto G might have offered the best value and performance for the money, but its successor comes up short. Despite this, it's still a very good smartphone: it has a decent HD screen, build-quality is good and so is the media player. The device provides excellent responsiveness. However, for a slightly lower price, you can find equivalent models with 4G connectivity, such as the ZTE Grand S Flex.
- Brilliant price
- good display
- improved camera
- good battery life
- great performance in this class
- No 4G
- no NFC
- bulkier design from larger screen format
- average sound
- front-facing speaker bar design
The price was the key to the original Moto G's success and we suspect it will be a similar story for the 2014 model too. For £150 you get a lot for your money, including a decent display, very good battery life, ample performance and an improved camera, as well as microSD storage expansion and a raw Android operating system experience with some useful extras...
- Awesome front-facing speakers with stereo quality sound
- It's just the right size
- Bloat-free interface
- No LTE or CDMA compatability just yet
he Moto G is yet more evidence that you don’t need a heaping of bells and whistles and powerful components to make a great smartphone. You can have a perfectly functional device for a mere $180, so that even if you don’t plan to use it as your daily driver it’s worth having just as a backup phone. The Moto G is also available with two SIM slots...
- One of the best entry-level phones money can buy
- Bigger size aids visuals
- Better camera
- Lack of 4G
- Processor upgrade would have been nice
Motorola’s unwillingness to increase the new Moto G’s numerical value hints at the fact that this isn’t the type of upgrade we’re accustomed to. ...
- Large 5in, HD screen
- Stereo speakers
- Dual-SIM (HSPA)
- 8MP rear camera
- ...
- Screen isn't as bright as predecessor
- No 4G
Motorola's Moto G (2nd Gen.) is, in few words, the cheapest smartphone flagship on the market. It is rich in features, beautiful in its simplicity and a bargain at $269.
- Inexpensive
- Large display
- Runs nearly stock Android with promise of speedy updates
- Memory card slot
- ...
- No LTE
- Larger display is less sharp than first generation
- No processor upgrades
- ...
Though it still lacks LTE, the second-generation Motorola Moto G grows up and gets a few welcome upgrades without sacrificing the high-quality experience and low price of its predecessor.
- Bigger Size
- Display is adequate for watching movies or playing games
- Lacking in Storage
- No removable battery
[...] If you’re moving up from an even cheaper phone, updating from a 3- or 4-year-old flagship, or finally ditching that flip phone, you’ll feel like you’ve hit the jackpot.
- Much-improved camera
- Strong battery life
- Solid, well-built design
- Excellent value for money
- No 4G LTE support
- Average front-facing speakers
- So-so low-light photos
The new Moto G punches above its weight once again and puts more expensive phones to shame. 4G would be great, but it's not a deal breaker when you consider the price.
Motorola does it again with a top value phone - our only concerns are the ageing internals and the lack of 4G.
- Excellent camera
- Value for money
- Clean Android 4.4.2 OS
- Low resolution for screen size
- Same processor as old model
[...] It is proof that Motorola is not a one trick pony when it comes to manufacturing great smartphones. Sleek, clever and compact, the Moto G 2014 won't make as many waves as it did in 2013 but its ripples will be felt throughout the budget handset market.
As with the hardware, there's nothing much to write home about when it comes to the software. The Moto G (2nd Gen.) runs the latest version of Android and, as per Motorola's recent strategy, it's clean Android 4.4 (KitKat) with only a few extras sprinkled on the top. Motorola's Assist, Alert and Migrate apps all come preloaded, and there's a guaranteed upgrade to Android L later in the year.

- Solid smartphone design and construction
- Very low full price with no-contract
- microSD memory expansion
- Dual front facing stereo speakers
- Decent 8 megapixel rear camera
- Non-removable battery
- Larger form factor
- No LTE support
The new Moto G offers up some nice improvements over last year’s model and I am pretty surprised they were able to still keep the price under $200. As long as people can accept the larger size, I think the Moto G will again be an extremely popular smartphone for the masses who don’t want to pay three to nearly five times this amount for a new iPhone 6 model....
With a bigger screen, much better speakers and improved cameras, the new Moto G is a great budget smartphone. It isn't without its rivals, but if you're specifically looking for a budget dual-SIM Android phone, it's a good choice.
As an upgrade to one of the best phones we've had the pleasure of reviewing, the new Moto G still packs in a whole lot for less than £150. The bigger screen, improved camera and addition of a microSD card slot provides more good reasons why this is still the budget phone to go for. ...
The new Moto G isn't just an amazing bargain. It's a sub-£150 phone that gives a surprising number of £200-plus mid-range handsets a real run for their money, and in most cases actually beats them hands down in terms of overall value. We didn't think it was possible to create a better phone than the original Moto G, but the latest version of Motorola's unstoppable handset rightly claims its crown as the new king of budget smartphones. It wins a Best Buy award.
As with the hardware, there's nothing much to write home about here. The Moto G (2nd Gen.) runs the latest version of Android and, as per Motorola's recent strategy, it's clean Android 4.4 (KitKat) with only a few extras sprinkled on the top. Motorola's Assist, Alert and Migrate apps all come preloaded, and there's a guaranteed upgrade to Android L later in the year. ...
If you were to drop it into someone's hands and ask them to guess how much your Motorola Moto G cost, we bet they'd be surprised how affordable it was. Similar to its older brother, the device's main draw is its price. Although it is a competitively priced phone, it doesn't feel or even look like a cheap phone. ...
- Gorgeous screen
- powerful processor
- sturdy build
- good battery life
- budget price
- A bit chunky
- no 4G
- no expandable memory
The Moto G is essentially a pretty decent mid-spec phone but it's the budget price that makes it really special. ...
- Jaw-dropping value
- Great screen
- Great performance
- Camera just OK
- No microSD slot
The Motorola Moto G is one of the best phones of the year, and the first time we’ve seen a phone of this calibre launch at under £200 SIM-free. That it’s so much cheaper than £200 is a minor miracle. This phone deserves to sell by the bucketload. ...
- Extremely affordable price
- Great screen
- Plenty of power
- Colourful, interchangeable cases
- ...
- No 4G connectivity
- No expandable storage
The Motorola Moto G has the screen, power, build and battery to make much more expensive phones jealous. Unless you crave 4G or just fancy the luxury of a top-end phone, the Moto G should definitely be on your shopping list -- at this price, no other phone comes close.
With its 720p screen and 1.2GHz processor, the Motorola Moto G doesn't attempt to challenge the smartphone elite, but those specs are seriously impressive for a phone with such a cheap price tag. ...
At first glance, the Motorola Moto G certainly looks like a good buy for people that haven't got hundreds of pounds to spend but still want a decent phone that will enable them to do most thing that you can do on the flaghship handsets. We were impressed by the screen, and speed, as well as the minimalist. Stay tuned for a full review.
