A great-value Windows Phone device that has superb battery life and excellent performance.

All of this is a big step in the right direction for Windows Phone 8 and its mission to catch up with iOS and Android. We like a lot of the new features but there still remains the issue of a lack of apps in the Store. [...] For the most part, you can install third-party apps to get Google Maps, YouTube and Gmail, but it's a shame there are no official apps.

The Nokia Lumia 630 contains many positive traits. Its bright and smooth Windows Phone interface is eye-catching and performs most tasks well for an affordable handset. It beats its rivals – including the superior Moto E – in terms of app browsing, camera functions and gaming. Elsewhere, however, it is let down by some crippling debilities that include a lack of popular apps and games, unnecessary built-in software and a rather dull design.

It's a pretty good smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 630. Performance is acceptable, battery life is good, and even the camera is tolerable. ...

If you’re new to smartphones, the 630 is a decent choice so long as you don’t need a front-facing camera for Skype chats. [...] While there are lots of apps in the store, there are still some big gaps and you’ll inevitably discover you can’t get some of the apps you rely on. If these drawbacks don’t put you off, and you’re don’t need a phone which supports 4G for fast mobile internet, the 630 is good value.

The Lumia 630 seems like another neat little Windows Phone mobile that should sell by the truckload if sold at the right price. But just like cheap Android rivals, its screen is rather shown up by the much higher-resolution Moto G, but otherwise Nokia seems to have made most of the right hardware decisions here.
