The Toshiba Mini NB305-N600 ($380 as of April 5, 2011) comes from the higher end of Toshiba's two-part netbook family. Nothing if not eager to meet your netbook needs, Toshiba offers its two basic models--the Mini NB300 and NB500 series--in a total of 11 configurations, and figuring out how they differ requires going through spec sheets with a magnifying glass.
Fazit
While handsome with an unusual metallic chassis, the Mini NB305-N600 is a subpar performer that costs more than comparable, better-performing competitors, including its own sibling, the NB505-N508GN.

The first thing to note about the NB305 is that it's sleeker than its predecessor, the NB200, thanks to a smaller motherboard and Intel's diminutive Atom N450 processor. The six-cell battery doesn't stick out from the back like a sore thumb, so it doesn't ruin the effect of the machine's svelte dimensions.

The Toshiba NB305 is a thoroughly respectable machine. Its performance is fairly typical for a netbook, but it offers long battery life, a good keyboard, and a robust and attractive design.

Wer ein 10,1-Zoll Netbook für schnelle Schreibarbeiten und den mobilen Alltagsgebrauch sucht, ist mit dem Toshiba Mini NB305 gut beraten. Zumindest was die Systemleistung und die Akkulaufzeit angeht. Für den Aufenthalt außerhalb der Kellerwohnung ist das glänzende Display unseres Testmodells zu schlecht. Trotz einer Ausleuchtung von über 200 cd/m² kann es an sonnigen Plätzen nicht überzeugen...

Es soll ja Anwender geben, die sich an spiegelnden Displays nicht stören, gar erfreuen. Denen sei das Toshiba NB305 durchaus empfohlen – wobei mich auch das Lüftergeräusch ein wenig nervt. Wer mit glänzenden Bildschirmen nichts anfangen kann, schaut sich besser die Konkurrenz von Samsung an.
