Fazit
Das Inspiron Mini 1012 unterscheidet sich angenehm vom Netbook-Einheits-Design. Bei Akkulaufzeit, Bildschirmqualität und Tastatur gehört es zu den besseren Geräten, bietet aber für seinen Preis zu wenig Ausstattung.

Dell has given the Mini an overhaul in the design department, and we have to say, we're impressed. A wide selection of colourful designs is on offer, though each model features a pure white lower half. Any colour more exciting than black will set you back another £35.

The Dell Mini 1012 has some well-implemented features that make it stand out above the sea of competing netbooks. We like the great display, big keyboard and fantastic build quality. It's a little on the pricey side, but if you're in the market for a good quality netbook, the 1012 is unlikely to disappoint.

Netbooks gibt es wie Sand am Meer. Aber nur eine Handvoll der mit Intel Atom bestückten Geräte eignet sich als mobiler Film-Sklave. Der Grund ist nicht etwa eine zu kleine Festplatte, sondern die nicht HD-fähigen integrierten Grafikkerne.

Netbooks are found a dime a dozen. But only few equipped with Intel's Atom are suitable as a mobile movie slave. The reason for this isn't a too small hard disk, but the integrated graphic cores incapable of HD. The second netbook generation called Pine Trail didn't provide for any improvements in this matter. The DirectX 9 GPU, GMA3150, integrated into the processor, did just as much for HD decoding and 3D benchmarks as its predecessors, the GMA950 and GMA500. The weak Atom processor needed the assistance of an HD graphic card in order to be able to render 720p or 1080p movies smoothly. ...

Durch die Leistung des Intel Atom N450 und der integrierten GMA 3150 Grafikeinheit erhalten wir ein solides Netbook in Hinsicht auf die Anwendungsleistung. Auch die Akkulaufzeit von 7 Stunden entspricht unseren Anforderungen an kleine Mini-Notebooks. Abstriche müssen beim Samsung NB30 in der Displayausleuchtung hingenommen werden. Trotz matter Anzeige reichen die 146,5 cd/m² nicht aus, um bei starken Lichtverhältnissen der Sonne entgegen zu wirken...
