Fazit
Lenovos ThinkPad-Reihe zeichnet sich durch eine hervorragende Verarbeitungsqualität aus. So auch das Einsteigergerät SL510 (NSL6NGE), das für rund 650 Euro über die Ladentheke wandert. Lenovo-typisch besitzt das Notebook ein robustes Gehäuse und eine gute Tastatur. Sehr gelungen sind auch die Maustasten des Touchpads.

Zudem können auch die überdurchschnittliche Office-Leistung, die geringe Wärme- und Geräuschentwicklung und die (abgesehen von der nur einjährigen Herstellergarantie) praxisgerechte Ausstattung überzeugen...

Nicht immer besteht die Möglichkeit, ein Notebook über einen längeren Zeitraum hin zu begleiten. Im Falle des Thinkpad W510 war dies dennoch der Fall, weshalb wir auch Sie an den Erfahrungen eines anfangs noch motivierten Einsteigers in die High-End Liga teilhaben lassen wollen.
Fazit
Mir ist durchaus klar, dass einige der nunmehr beschriebenen Punkte nicht eindeutig auf das Gerät an sich zurückzuführen sind, allerdings bin ich vor allem von den Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools enttäuscht. Eigentlich sollten sie das Leben mit dem Thinkpad einfacher, sicherer und effizienter machen, was ich zumindest in meinem Fall entschieden verneinen muss...

It is thoroughly clear to me that these problematic areas are not indicative of the quality of the notebook itself, rather that my disappointment lies with Lenovo ThinkVantage Tools. Theoretically, this software should make life with the Thinkpad easier, more secure and more efficient, a conclusion with which I do not agree with in the least. Updates, dearest readers! I long for the appearance of new tool and driver updates from Lenovo. Coming in week to week on a mostly regular schedule, they did not improve my situation with any of the aforementioned issues. ...

Sometimes size does matter. You'd never describe Lenovo's Thinkpad W510 as "thin and light." It's a bulky, heavy beast--a laptop with a 15.6-inch, LED backlit display that weighs as much as some 17-inch laptops. What you get with that bulk is a high-performance, workstation-class CPU, nVidia Quadro midrange mobile graphics, and workstation-style features such as built-in color calibration, complete with sensor.

Lenovo's 15.4-inch workstation-class laptop offers excellent an CPU and a good display, but the Windows 7 touch interface and 3D performance aren't great.

Auf der Suche nach leistungsfähigen Laptops für den Businessbereich landet man früher oder später auch bei Lenovos Thinkpad W Modellen an. Auch diese wurden mit dem Thinkpad W510 auf den neuesten Stand der Technik gebracht. Im Detail wenden wir uns nun einem W510 Modell mit Intel Core i7 820QM Prozessor, Nvidia Quadro FX 880M Grafikkarte und vier Gigabyte Hauptspeicher zu.
Fazit
An dem Thinkpad W510 findet man nicht zuletzt wegen seines klassischem Thinkpad-Designs schnell gefallen. Der Laptop punktet jedoch nicht nur mit seinem Äußeren sonder auch mit seinem modernen und leistungsfähigen Innenleben. Mit von der Partie waren in unserem Testmodell ein Intel Core i7 820QM Prozessor und eine für Profi-Anwendungen optimierte Quadro FX 880M Grafikkarte von Nvidia. Das 550 Euro teure Notebook Thinkpad SL510 gehört zu Lenovos Einstiegs-Thinkpad-Serie. Die Geräte sind seit jeher als Office-Laptops konzipiert und mit einem matten Display ausgestattet. Das SL510 glänzt mit vielen Aufrüstmöglichkeiten und zahlreichen Schnittstellen.
Fazit
Das Lenovo Thinkpad SL510 ist ein sehr gutes Office-Notebook. Vor allem die vielen Aufrüstmöglichkeiten und Schnittstellen sucht man in dieser Preisklasse sonst vergeblich. Das Thinkpad patzt jedoch in zwei Disziplinen: Zum einen gibt die Tastatur an mehreren Stellen stark nach, und der Lüfter ist für ein Office-Notebook zu laut. Insgesamt schrammt das 550 Euro teure Lenovo Thinkpad SL510 deshalb denkbar knapp an einer Auszeichnung vorbei.
