Testberichte
- Ideal 4:3 aspect ratio
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- Knock-to-wake feature
- Strong speakers
- Pricier than before
- Subpar display quality
- Uninspiring design
- No micro SD slot
Google Nexus 9 is an 8.9-inch upgrade to last year's Nexus 7 and a great introduction to Android Lollipop. It just doesn't measure up to the iPad Air 2 in more ways than one.
- Big, sharp screen
- Powerful GPU
- Good battery life
- Not as swish as an iPad
- Backlight leakage
- Slightly disappointing stereo speakers
The Nexus 9 is a powerful, handy tablet that’s fun to use, but it feels a little more like a suggested starting point for other manufacturers than a device that’ll stick on our most wanted list for 18 months.
- Comfortable, lightweight design
- Above-average speakers
- Runs pure version of latest Android ("Lollipop")
- Rubberized back is fingerprint- and streak-prone
- No MicroSD card slot for storage expansion
- Slow to charge
- Ho-hum battery life
The Nexus 9 provides a good mix of light weight and screen size, and it has great graphics performance. But its battery life disappoints, and the tablet occupies a tough middle ground hemmed in by iPads and other, more premium Android tabs. ...
- Very powerful chip.
- Sharp resolution.
- Strong viewing angles.
- Solid battery life.
- ...
- Cheap design.
- Colour reproduction is not the best.
It is certainly a powerful tablet, so if you need something to handle heavy tasks, look no further than the Nexus 9. Unfortunately, it is let down by its build quality.
Cheap, and one of the best pure Android devices on the market.
- Great screen and speakers
- Colourful Lollipop software look fantastic against the inconspicuous design
- Powerful
- Camera performance
- Rubber coat will peel against friction
- No expandable storage
HTC’s first tablet delivers comparable performance to Apple’s iPad Air 2, and it does so for a fraction of the price. Its strengths far outweigh its small gripes, with Apple’s iPad Air 2 only scoring more points for its aluminium construction and finger scanner. Frankly if you have and Android smartphone, pocket the $140 difference saved by not buying an iPad Air 2 and buy a Nexus 9. It’ll do anything Apple’s slate can do, only for less....
- Hervorragend ausgestattet
- Sehr gutes Display
Previous Nexus tablets have earned solid 5 star reviews from S21, but not the Nexus 9. Although it's a nicely-styled tablet with impressive performance from the 64-bit CPU and Kepler GPU, and Android Lollipop is a very welcome addition, it's let down by several things. ...
- Excellent front-facing stereo speakers and a very nice screen
- Light, comfortable to hold
- Runs the latest version of stock Android, which has improved since launch
- Very solid battery life
- Keyboard cover Folio (sold separately) is a nice option for entering lots of text
- Not as consistently fast as it should be
- Screen is too reflective for some outdoor conditions
- Optional Keyboard Folio is buggy, and using it on the fly can grow annoying
The Nexus 9 is a really good tablet. It not a speed demon, and doesn’t blow your mind in any one way (except the exceptional audio), but for $400 it’s a very solid choice, and if you’re wanting an Android tablet I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it. ...
- Android 5
- gutes Display
- hohe Spieleperformance
- kein Kartenleser
Funktionen (25%): gut; Display (25%): gut; Akku (20%): gut; Handhabung (20%): befriedigend; Vielseitigkeit (10%): befriedigend
- Android 5.0 Lollipop
- Powerful 64-bit Tegra K1 SoC
- Excellent speakers
- Some build quality issues
- Runs warm under load
- Limited internal storage capacity
- No MicroSD storage expansion
The Google/HTC Nexus 9 is a good tablet, but not quite a great one. The sound quality from the twin HTC BoomSound speakers is a real plus point — as, of course, is Android 5.0 Lollipop. ...
- Android 5.0 mit vielen neuen Funktionen
- Power-Chip für Rechen- und Grafikoperationen
- sehr gute Ausdauer
- helles Display
- ...
- Speicher nicht erweiterbar
- keine Verwendung von USB-Sticks möglich
- kein HDMI
In the end, the Nexus 9 is simply one of the best all-around tablets we've ever tested. It dares to do what most Android tablets have avoided for years: stand toe-to-toe with Apple's premier tablet. It doesn't beat out the iPad Air 2 in every category, but with Lollipop in tow it represents a reasonable alternative for the right buyer.
- Super Fast Tegra K1 64-bit
- Excellent Viewing Angles
- Light Weight
- Good Battery Life
- Plastic Back is a Smudge Magnet
- Gets Hot during Load
- Size takes time getting used to
- No MicroSD slot
The Nexus 9 shows where Android tablets of the future should be headed — a little less geek locked in their bedroom, a bit more ‘ordinary person’ relaxing in the lounge. However, it also has the raw power underneath to satisfy enthusiasts so it’ll come up with the hardcore goods once more devs gets their heads around its 64-bit Kepler engine. ...
Previous Nexus tablets, particularly the Nexus 7, have been hard to beat for value but that's not the case for the Nexus 9. ...
The best Android tablet to date, and a real challenger to the iPad, the Nexus 9 raises the bar for Google-powered slates.
- Big, sharp screen

- Not as swish as an iPad

The Nexus 9 is a powerful, handy tablet that’s fun to use, but it feels a little more like a suggested starting point for other manufacturers than a device that’ll stick on our most wanted list for 18 months.
- Super-fast processor
- First tablet with Android Lollipop which has lots of new features
- Poor camera
- Some apps need to be updated
- Android is still a bit behind Windows ...
The Nexus 9 is a well-built Android tablet with a powerful processor, and it'll always be the first to get the latest Google OS updates.
- Nice design
- plenty of grip
- great speakers
- latest version of Android
- ...
- Some early app compatibility problems
- average camera
- no microSD storage expansion
- some display edge bleed
This is the latest Android experience and it will be the most up-to-date over the next year and that's the reason you should buy the Nexus 9.
- 64-bit processor is great for gaming and productivity
- Front-facing stereo speakers give the Nexus 9 a mini-theater experience
- Chassis is very basic
- Density can make it hard to hold for long periods of time
If you’re drawn to the Nexus 9, buy it because you want to see what the future’s like, not because you’re looking for the absolutely perfect tablet device.
