Der 27-Zoll-Bildschirm im iMac ist eine Klasse für sich. Die Auflösung reicht derzeit für alle Profi-Anwendungen aus. Der aktuelle AMD-Grafikchip sorgt dafür, dass man nie das Gefühl hat, der Rechner wäre grafisch überfordert. Fotografen, Grafiker oder Kreative im Bereich Audio/Video werden ihre Freude an der Maschine haben.

This review will focus on the entry-level S$1,788 model, but all four of Apple's default iMac configurations received updates to their CPU, memory, and graphics chips. The highest-end 27-inch model also has a new option for solid-state hard drives.

Apple has elected to keep its iMac firmly grounded as a productivity device. You'll find few home entertainment conveniences in Apple's new iMac, and you can find larger screens in other all-in-ones for less. Few will offer performance like this iMac, though, and none looks as pretty, which makes it easy to recommend for general-purpose computing and for the design-conscious.

Die Marke Apple ist seit einigen Jahren das Nonplusultra im Bereich der Computertrends, wozu auch der All in One PC iMac seinen Teil beigetragen hat. Diesen gibt es nicht nur in den großen Versionen mit 24 und 27 Zoll, sondern auch als iMac 21,5 Zoll, der schon für 1045 € erhältlich ist.
Fazit
Die Leistung des iMac 21,5 Zoll weiß wirklich zu überzeugen, denn neben einer Dual Core CPU und genug Arbeitsspeicher leistet auch die Grafikkarte eine ordentliche Arbeit. Das Beste am iMac 21,5 Zoll ist und bleibt aber das vorinstallierte Betriebssystem Mac OS X, das das zurzeit beste OS auf dem Markt ist.

Das Alu-Gehäuse der neuen iMacs macht sich bei der Kühlung der internen Komponenten positiv bemerkbar. Das 27-Zoll-Modell wird nach längerem am oberen Rand sehr warm, dafür bleiben CPU, GPU und Festplatte recht kühl, so dass die Lüfter kaum aufdrehen müssen. ...

Apple bringt einen neuen iMac auf den Markt - ganz ohne Tamtam. Was heißt das? Am Design ändert sich nichts - ansonsten hätten wir es alle schon längst mitbekommen. Aber warum auch, denn sowohl die 20- als auch die 24-Zoll-Variante im schlanken Alu-Gehäuse sieht immer noch gut aus.
Fazit
Apple hat dem iMac mal wieder ein Facelift unterzogen. Die meisten Neuerungen gibt's zwar unter der Haube, aber auch das Display wurde überarbeitet. Unterm Strich ist der "neue" iMac im alten Gehäuse ein toller Rechner - wenn man All-in-One-Geräte mag.
