Considered against what users of other marques might pay, the cost of the Olympus 300mm f/4 does seem to be very reasonable. We can add to that its compact size, relatively light weight and excellent ergonomics. Quality is superb. All in all, a lot of thought and skill has gone into this lens...
Das Telezoom von Olympus kümmert sich um die ganz langen Telebrennweiten bis zu 600 Millimetern KB-Äquivalent. Und das klappt bei der Startbrennweite 75 mm exzellent, doch gehört auch das 150-mm-Ergebnis zu den Topresultaten an der Olympus OM-D E-M5. Erst bei voller Telestellung lässt das Niveau über das ganze Bildfeld nach und kostet die Empfehlung. ...
Bloß nicht abblenden, lautet der Tipp zum Olympus M.Zuiko D. 75-300 mm II. Der Tele-Riese will mit Bedacht eingesetzt werden.

This lens certainly won't suit everyone due to its modest maximum aperture and lack of optical stabilisation. However, if you own an Olympus Micro Four Thirds compatible camera with stabilisation built into the body, and take most of your super-telephoto images in good light, or with a support, then this lens should fit the bill nicely. Overall, this lens is compact, well built, lightweight and capable of delivering excellent results at shorter focal lengths. It is a bit of a shame that the results are lacklustre by comparison at 300mm.
