The Studio 1558 may not have the sexy brushed-aluminium look of some of the models in Dell's XPS range, but there's still plenty to like about its design. Because the chassis is wedge-shaped, the spacious keyboard naturally tilts towards you to provide a pleasant typing angle.
The design of the 15.6-inch Dell Studio 1558 doesn't exactly set the heart racing, but it's a well-built machine and has good performance, making it an ideal family laptop.

Das Dell Studio 1558 ist ein überaus gutes Notebook, dem es wirklich an nichts mangelt. Die einzelnen Komponenten wurden sehr gut aufeinander abgestimmt und die vorinstallierte Software fügt sich perfekt in das Dell Notebook ein. Der Preis ist in Anbetracht der Leistung sogar noch recht günstig.

Gegenüber seinen Vorgängern Dell Studio 1555 und Dell Studio 1557 kann sich das Dell Studio 1558 durch teilweise bessere Leistungswerte und eine längere Akkulaufzeit absetzen. Leider wurden die Schwächen der Vorgänger, wie z.B. das stetige Lüftergeräusch oder die schlechte Verarbeitungsqualität des Displaydeckels, nicht behoben...

Dell basically gives the customers a lot of rope for configuring the Studio 1558 (with a Radeon HD4570). There are already around 15 alternatives for the display lid's color to choose from. The Studio 1558 has a few good up to very good elements. The runtime of the optional 9 cell battery is impressive in less demanding applications. The FullHD display is pleasing with its great picture quality with a vivid contrast and a high brightness.
