BioWare hat die Mass Effect-Franchise schon von Anfang an als Trilogie konzipiert. Während die Reihe dieses Jahr mit dem dritten Ableger komplettiert wird und sein Ende findet, hat Electronic Arts die beiden Vorgänger bislang nur für die Xbox 360 und den PC veröffentlicht.
Als PlayStation 3-Besitzer hat man bislang immer nur von Mass Effect gehört. In den Genuss des Rollenspiels durften Sonys Anhänger aber jahrelang nicht kommen. Jetzt hat Electronic Arts den Titel endlich auch für das andere Ufer veröffentlicht. Bis auf wenige überschaubare Änderungen, erwartet uns allerdings kein großes Spektakel...

It took me 28 hours to beat Mass Effect 2 on my first run through, and I think it's safe to say that for more than 27 hours of that experience I was, for the most part, elated. Before I dig into what makes it such an enjoyable ride, I think it's worth addressing the score right here at the beginning. The half-point lopped off the top is due, almost entirely, to the game's climactic battle and my entirely subjective response to it.
An improvement on just about every aspect of the original game, with the exception of one tiny aspect; the very final battle. Mass Effect 2 sees BioWare's approach to the role playing genre evolve beyond anything they've worked on previously, and gives us a glimpse of how both RPGs and shooters will begin to merge in the years ahead.
