The Thecus N2310 is a well priced, 2-bay NAS device that offers plenty of speed for storing and accessing files across your network. Its interface could use a little refinement to make it more user friendly, especially for many of its extra features, but it's still relatively easy to set up. We also like its mobile app, which is great for accessing data off the NAS from a phone.

An excellent option for those looking for a quality NAS server on a small budget.

Overall, though, even decent speeds can't make up for the unpleasant experience on offer with the Thecus N2310. It's far too complicated to set up anything beyond a simple file share, and even that isn't particularly simple. ...

Between our issues getting the Thecus N2310 up and running, its noisy operation (with two hard drives, in addition to its cooling and general “stuff is happening!” array of beeping), and its rather user-hostile UI, we can't recommend this NAS box for anything but the most ardent of NAS enthusiasts. Plenty of functionality is buried within the N2310 for those who don’t mind digging and configuring, but the user interface is definitely one of the least friendly we’ve encountered in recent years....
