The Sonos Sub sounds great, offering plenty of bass, and if you are happy to turn the levels up, tooth-rattling amounts of noise. It isn't for everyone, nor will it be necessary for everyone, but the Sonos Sub is a device that is all about sound and it's an excellent addition to the Sonos system if you can afford it.

It’s expensive compared with standard subs, but then it’s built specifically for the Sonos system – itself not a cheap proposition. Ultimately the Sonos Sub simply sets out to add bass to a system probably built around the Play:3 or Play:5. And it does a very decent job of it.

A fantastic-sounding sub for people already with Sonos gear that are looking for better overall sound. You will need plenty of disposable cash to make it worth your while, but if you fancy treating yourself this month your ears will thank you.
Our verdict on the Sonos Sub is tricky. On one hand you've got a mouth-wateringly expensive accessory for an already pricey range of products. On the other, you've got a truly brilliant piece of audio engineering that will transform turn your living room into a super club. If you can afford it, buy it.
