Panasonics PT-AE 4000 weist neben seinem Design einige unverwechselbare Stärken auf: hoher Kontrast, natürliche Farben, sehr gutes 24p-Kinobild, zahlreiche Bildregler, Zweifach-Zoom mit Lens-Shift, motorische Einstellung verschiedener Bildformate. Negativ fielen die Farbsäume an bewegten Kanten, dezente Einfärbungen in feinen Mustern und die schlechte Vollbildwandlung bei Standard-TV-Bildern auf. Angesichts seines Preises, der im Internet schon bei 2.100 Euro liegt, kann man ihm diese Schwächen verzeihen.

Zwar ist das Bild immer noch nicht perfekt. Dennoch sieht es besser aus als das der meisten Konkurrenten, wodurch der Beamer besonders in abgedunkelten Heimkinos eine sehr gute Figur macht.

It's got unprecedented amounts of set-up flexibility for its price too, including a really innovative system for accommodating different aspect ratios. Only a slightly limited native black-level response prevents the AE4000 from becoming a true silver-screen superstar.
