The new Broadwell i7-5775C is not for the typical discrete graphics card user/enthusiast/overclocker crowd that much is obvious, but the question still remains, who is this processor for? It is easy to be myopic when you are deep in enthusiast circles and not see the larger picture to gauge what the system user base is really like for the whole market.
... Brute strength is out of fashion. With increased efficiencies, more and more users will be looking at more “finesse” solutions and Intel is right there at the edge laying tracks. For most users, especially the enthusiast/overclocker/gamer crowd, it might be difficult to see where Intel is taking this path down to but that is only because they are so far ahead of the trend that they are not adapting to it, they are creating it...
There’s no way to talk about the Broadwell socketed chip without talking about what’s coming: Skylake. Intel’s next desktop chip is rumored to be dropping soon, and Skylake is the rightful successor to Haswell. So why even waste time with Broadwell? ...
Klar, es gibt noch schnellere Prozessoren (siehe Vergleich links unten). Die haben aber oft keine eigene Grafikeinheit, genehmigen sich deutlich mehr Strom und sind viel teurer. Der Intel Core i7- 5775C bietet das derzeit beste Paket und erreichte so den ersten Platz unter den bisher getesteten Prozessoren.

- Tops the Core i7-4790K in some traditionally CPU-centric tests

Intel’s highest-end "Broadwell" desktop CPU delivers the best integrated graphics we’ve seen from a socketed processor, as well as very good raw compute performance. (Caveat: Pending next-generation CPUs and support for an end-of-life socket may narrow its appeal for some buyers.)
