HP Mini 5103 XN624ES
Testberichte
- Excellent keyboard
- High-resolution screen
- Gigabit Ethernet
- 802.11n 5GHz support
- Screen isn't as sharp as it could be
HP's Mini 5103 is a gorgeous, luxury item that makes a netbook desirable again. You'll still need to ask yourself if the small size is worth the cost; however, for portability, battery life and features, the 5103 is on our wanted list.

HP's Mini 5103 is a gorgeous, luxury item that makes a netbook desirable again. You'll still need to ask yourself if the small size is worth the cost, as full-sized laptops can be had for the same price and offer considerably greater power — however, for portability, battery life and features, the 5103 is on our wanted list.

HP gives the Mini 5103 business netbook new innards, whereby the predecessor's case is still used. It can score with an elegant, and at the same time, business suitable appearance. Thus, it's no wonder that other manufacturers follow its tracks. An example would be Asus' Eee PC 1016P with an aluminum case, which is supposed to be aimed at the same target group. Another novelty is the color alternative that is called "Espresso" – a combination of black and anthracite. ...
The HP Mini 5103-WK472EA business netbook has convincing buying arguments, but also a few drawbacks that should be considered. The design, the high-end case made of an aluminum-magnesium alloy and a good workmanship are on the pro side. The connectivity corresponds to the current netbook standard, but there is no fast USB 3.0 port, eSATA or an ExpressCard slot. A warranty of only 12 months ex-factory and a poor scope of delivery are further drawbacks for the targeted customers. ...
- Metal casing
- 1366x768 screen resolution
- 7200rpm hard drive
- 2GB DDR3 SDRAM
- good performance
- great battery life
- Lot of preinstalled software
- initial setup takes around 30min
- touchpad can sometimes feel too sticky
- rubber stops don't keep netbook from sliding on a desk
The 10.1in HP Mini 5103 (XP882PA) netbook doesn't improve much on the brilliant little HP Mini 5102. From its anodised aluminium exterior panels to its internal gizzards, the 5103 is simply an old business netbook with a different model name, but it offers a few new configuration options.
Despite not being very different to the HP Mini 5102, the HP Mini 5103 is still one of the best netbooks money can buy... if you don't mind forking over so much cash for a netbook, that is. It's solidly constructed, has 2GB of RAM and a fast 7200rpm hard drive, and its battery life is great. We hate the prolonged setup procedure when you boot it up for the first time, and think it comes with too much bloatware, but overall, the 5103 is excellent.
Business Class.
- Solid, stylish design
- Plenty of configuration options
- Comfortable keyboard
- Newly-added dual-core Atom N550 and HD screen options
- Moderate battery life with four-cell battery
- Small trackpad
- Higher-end configurations are expensive
Earlier this year, HP's small-business-targeted Mini 5102 netbook stood out among a field of lookalike 10in. competitors, with a premium design and features that others lacked. ...
The latest iteration of HP's business netbook adds some useful optional features including an HD 10in. screen and a dual-core Atom processor. However, it's looking dated next to faster 11.6in. ultraportables.
HP has updated its powerful and attractive business netbook, the Mini 5103, with features that will appeal to small business users and students alike. While retaining the same rugged yet sleek aluminum and magnesium chassis as before, the 5103 now comes with Intel's new dual-core Atom processor, which will allow you to do more without compromising portability...
HP's durable but pricey netbook gets serious with a dual-core processor and robust software package.
HP's Mini 5103 netbook offers good input ergonomics and a cornucopia of security features, but its touchscreen is small at 10.1in.
Most users will be better served with less-expensive, consumer-oriented netbooks; however, the security and other corporate features make the HP Mini 5103 a no-brainer for IT departments - at least until they see the bill. ...
- Great battery life
- Good performance and ergonomics
- Smallish display
- Pricey
The HP Mini 5103 is a corporate-oriented netbook that does just about everything right: It has a plethora of business and security features, an excellent keyboard and touchpad, and a touchscreen. However, performance is mundane, and a larger display would be nice--especially on a unit this pricey.
Great security features and excellent video performance highlight this corporate netbook--but the display's too small.
