- jetzt mit 3D-Playback und MP3/ AAC
- zukunftssichere Hardware
- Skalierung bei BD-Filmen
- keine CDs
- kein Mediaplayer
- Laufwerk sirrt
- Great performance
- PS Plus good value
- DualShock 4 is ace!
- Excellent graphics
- Remote Play works
- Media features lacking
- More apps needed
- No simple DLNA
- Lacks big exclusives
The most powerful games console in the world, the PS4 is even better than it was a year ago. With AAA games available and features added, it's becoming the console we wanted from the start.
- Sleek, powerful hardware
- Intuitive and functional interface
- Great streaming and sharing features
- Excellent controller
- Key games look better on PS4 than Xbox One
- Lack of great exclusives
- No instant resume on games
- No DLNA client for media streaming
The PS4 is a powerful, great looking console that is need of some killer PS4 exclusives. These are bound to come in time, but there's no doubt that it's the more powerful of the two consoles and that Sony has produced a leaner, more gamer orientated console compared to the Xbox One.
With more graphical horsepower, a simpler interface and a great controller, the PS4 is our pick of the next-gen consoles.
- Attractive, compact design
- DualShock 4 feels much better than the Sixaxis or DualShock 3 controllers before it
- Great streaming support
- Many new features
- Most features require a PlayStation Network connection
- Non-free-to-play multiplayer requires a PS Plus subscription
- Doesn't easily let you export recorded gameplay video
The first fully redesigned PlayStation in seven long years sports a fresh look, an all-new interface, some unique features, and a much more comfortable controller.
The Sony PS4 is a good looking and powerful console with fantastic hardware. We like the new DualShock controller and smooth interface. It's also cheaper than the Xbox One but a lack of killer titles mean it's probably worth hanging back for a while, grabbing after a price drop.
- Powerful spec
- Great controller
- Stylish looks
- Lack of exclusive games
- Not backwards compatible
- Media a bit light
With the PS3 and Xbox 360 producing some of the finest games of the moment and acting as fully operational media hubs while they do it, a new console is undoubtedly a want rather than a need right now. But through its super-fast UI, noticeable graphical jump and expansion plans, PS4 looks like one worth buying into in the long run.
- Stunning 1080p gaming for the win
- Remote Play is brilliant
- Super-slick and fast operation
- No DLNA - yet
- 4K games still out of reach
- Some features look a little underbaked right now
Slick, powerful and packed with stand-out features, the PS4 delivers on the next-gen console promise.
- sehr gute Bildqualität bei Blu-ray
- spielt aktuelle keine 3D-Blu-ray
- spielt keine Audio-CDs
- kein Mediaplayer (USB, DLNA)
- Compact build
- Plain, subtle design
- Redesigned DualShock 4 controller is very nice to use
- Power use is reasonable when gaming
- Decent performance levels for the money
- Not totally silent when in the UI or playing a Blu-ray
- Online multiplayer gaming is no longer free
- Not backwards compatible
- Power use a bit on the high side when in the UI or watching a Blu-ray
- Multimedia functions thin on the ground: no CD or MP3 playback or DLNA
The Sony PlayStation 4 is a well-designed, responsive and connected console that's geared up for a new level of gaming with a decidedly social slant. While the games outed to accompany its launch may not be as eye-poppingly impressive as hoped, we're still pretty sure that this console has a long and successful future ahead of it. The onboard graphics processing power should make way for some visually impressive games, even if the PS4 is no match for the latest gaming PCs in terms of pure performance. Still, at £350 with a good-quality controller and a design that won't look out of place in your living room, the PS4 isn't short on appeal for discerning games fans.
- Small and Sexy
- Remote Play with PS Vita
- Powerful Graphics
- Fast and Responsive
- ...
- Lack of Apps
- Media Features Removed From PS3
- No Backwards Compatibility
- Lack of Games Right Now
The PS4 should improve over time, but right now it’s best only as a video games machine. If you want to use the PS4 for other things, it’s best to wait to purchase it when Sony will hopefully add new features via future firmware updates.
- Great graphics
- Comfortable controller
- Stylish and compact design
- Sharing features
- Voice command feature is fiddly
- Launch lineup isn't stellar
As a pure gaming machine the Sony PS4 is stellar, and hardcore gamers looking for a games console just to play games will be delighted with it. However, the PS4's non-gaming offerings are slightly lacking.
Besonders Killzone Shadow Fall zeigt deutlich was in der schicken schwarzen Kiste so steckt. ...
- höhere Auflösung
- Festplatte austauschbar
- spürbar verbesserter Controller
- einfache, logische Oberfläche
- 100 Euro günstiger als Microsofts Xbox One
- ...
Still, some of us prefer to play on console, or are looking for different things when we’re gaming in the living room. If so, PS4 looks set to be the best of the new platforms, even if it needs the software to convince 100%. It’s a fantastic piece of hardware and the pieces are all in place. It just needs some stronger games to arrive.
- Geringer Preis
- Stark verbesserter Controller
- Hohes Arbeitstempo
- Satte Farben
- Hoher Stromverbrauch
- Lauter Lüfter
- Tonverrungen
- Simple set-up and interface
- Games look and sound great
- Good selection of TV, film and music apps
- Decent AV performance
- No 3D Blu-ray, CD or DLNA support
- Not as good as a dedicated disc player
Next-gen gaming is a glorious reality but you’ll have to make do without some last-gen features.
- Fast performance
- Great DualShock 4 controller
- Massively improved UI
- Needs better PS4 exclusives
- Lacks media streaming support
- Mandatory game installs
The PS4 is a powerful, great looking console that is need of some killer PS4 exclusives. These are bound to come in time, but there's no doubt that it's the more powerful of the two consoles and that Sony has produced a leaner, more gamer orientated console compared to the Xbox One.
- Fast, powerful, small, masses of potential, Remote Play via PS Vita is fun
- Lacklustre launch line-up, no 3D Blu-ray playback, no media streaming
There is no doubting that the PS4 is a powerful machine that has masses of potential. The graphics on the day one games we've played are a definite cut above - but we're sure there's a lot more to come then just Lego Marvel Super Heroes in 1080p. ...
- Fantastic controller
- Handsome console
- Simple, game-focused interface
- Not enough great games yet
- Occasional worrisome performance problems
- Interface doesn't scale well for power users
If you're desperate for a new console, rest assured that eventually the PS4 will be one; it has plenty of power, a great controller, and a lot of good ideas about how we can play games better and how we can play them together. But for right now, they’re mostly still just ideas.
- Powerful hardware hasn’t even reached its full potential
- Much-improved DualShock 4 controller
- Multitasking allows background downloads, music over games and more
- Sharing content is simple
- Justifies owning a Vita
- Many features still on the way, like Gaikai streaming games
- Baffling lack of DLNA and MP3 support
Sleeker, faster and more flexible than ever, Sony’s PlayStation 4 turns out to be a formidable force in the living room.
