Das Acer Stream setzt zweifelsohne neue Maßstäbe beim Thema Display. Nicht nur ist die Bilddiagonale riesig, auch die Darstellungsqualität ist hervorragend und dem iPhone 4 auf den ersten Blick fast ebenbürtig. Auch sonst ist die Ausstattung üppig. Es gibt eine HDMI Schnittstelle und eine Speicherkarte im Lieferumfang, sodass der Nutzer im Prinzip gleich loslegen kann. Doch die Freude währt nicht lange, denn der Akku wird dem erhöhten Energiebedarf des XXL-Displays leider nicht gerecht.

The Stream is obviously Acer's attempt to break into the big league when it comes to premium smartphones and there’s certainly much to like. It’s very fast, has a great screen and even the design is a big step forward from Acer’s previous efforts. However, it’s hampered by its poor battery life and Acer’s rather awkward user interface enhancements. Acer is definitely on the right track here, but sadly with the Stream some of the ingredients for success still haven’t made it into the mix.

Whilst the Acer Stream doesn't quite reach the heights that other handsets have, Acer is starting to get close. We've found the Stream to be capable, if not as desirable as others, and we can't help feeling that with a little more work, Acer could start to attract a lot more interest

The Stream is Acer's best Android smart phone yet, but its customised user interface, HDMI port and video-recording capability aren't quite as good as we'd hoped they'd be.

The stock image of the Acer Stream seems to suggest it's a handsome-looking device. We'll have to see it in the flesh to judge if it truly is well-designed. Currently, this smartphone has been announced through Acer's US site and we are awaiting confirmation from the company as to whether it's coming to Asia.
