The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is a well-built general-purpose camera that offers a decent range of manual options for photographers who want to take some control. - Plenty of photo modes and options
- RAW image capture
- Good macro performance
- Images suffer from over-processing
- Image stabilisation in video mode is not particularly effective
While it doesn't perform as well as some of the other travel cameras in its class, the F770 EXR is great for macro shooters who want a long optical zoom and a GPS module. Unfortunately, if you shoot in JPEG exclusively, you just won't get the best out of this camera, and there's some pronounced noise and over-processing issues even at lower sensitivities. If you can live with these issues, and want a feature-laden travel camera, the F770 is a decent choice.
- Sharp 20x zoom lens
- Compact body
- Good control layout
- GPS. Raw shooting support
- Noisy photos at high ISOs
The compact Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR offers up nice physical controls, a GPS, a long 20x zoom lens, Raw support, and very sharp images, but noisy low-light photos hold it back.
The competition between the leading cameras in this category is very tough. They all take good pictures, have similar features and are available for roughly the same price. The Fuji Finepix F770EXR stands alongside the best in the bunch and loses little by comparison. You should be able to take a decent photo in more or less any situation and there are more than enough features to play around with to fine tune your photos and get the most out of this camera. It does the job it sets out to do without much fuss and bother. I would be happy to own one.
- Great colours and contrast
- Nice design
- Versatile lens
- Menu system could be a little better
- High ISO performance not great
- Video mode could be better
Fujifilm's FinePix F770EXR is a versatile little camera with a nice design and an ability to capture wonderfully-detailed and richly-coloured images. Its 25-500mm zoom lens, along with a small body size, make it a suitable camera to carry at all times.
The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is one of the smallest cameras available with a 20x optical zoom lens, and its redesigned handling with larger front grip helps keep the camera steady when shooting. ....
- Nice build
- sleek design
- Compact and stylish
- Great superzoom optics
- Fast processor
- Image quality
- GPS features
- User interface is a tad clunky
- No fun filters Menus aren't very intuitive
- Looks pricey
Die Finepix ist gut ausgestattet (u.a. GPS und RAW) und recht schnell, das starke Rauschen kostet aber Punkte bei der Bildqualität.
- Offers lots for the money
- 20x optical zoom, brighter lens at telephoto end than similar competitors
- offers raw shooting
- Lens flare issue is still a problem (as per F660 model)
- image quality a little soft
- battery life isn’t great
- sensor-based stabilisation should be lens-based by now
- overexposure isn’t uncommon
It’s the FinePix F770EXR’s price that makes it most attractive - although it's not that much cheaper than the competition. While its feature set may be vast, there are still some lens flare and exposure issues and higher-spec features such as a touchscreen also lack. Whatever your level this is an easy to use and rewarding compact camera with plenty of zoom range.
The Fujifilm FinePix F770EXR is a generously featured travel zoom that delivers good image quality, especially at lower sensitivity settings. The ability to capture Raw image files is a big bonus too, and something that elevates the F770EXR above its main travel zoom competitors. ...
The Fuji FinePix F770 EXR is a similar camera to its predecessors. The EXR modes are still as effective as ever, but the interface is at times a bit more confusing than in competitor models. Plus, while the lens gives very consistent quality, it's not quite on par with the best models on the market.
- Nice chassis, sleek design, Small for a GPS camera
- Capable pocket superzoom
- Solid hardware features (impressive sensor technology, fast, powerful processor)
- In-camera UI is clunky and unintuitive
- Little low on the firmware features (no filters, unimpressive in-camera experience)
- On the pricey side for what you’re getting
